FAQ
Machining Center
What stainless steel finishes can your processing center produce?
Our surface finishing center can process common stainless steel finishes including No.4, Hairline, SB/Satin and 8K mirror finishes. The process is adjusted according to the incoming surface, stainless steel grade, thickness and required appearance.
Can you process stainless steel sheets and coils?
Yes. We provide finishing solutions for both sheets and coils. Sheet processing can use automatic conveying or vacuum loading systems, while coil processing normally uses continuous decoiling, finishing, laminating and recoiling.
Which stainless steel grades can you process?
Common materials include 200, 300 and 400 series stainless steel such as 201, 304, 316 and 430. Different grades have different hardness and incoming surface conditions, so processing parameters are adjusted accordingly.
What information should we provide before processing?
Please provide the stainless steel grade, sheet or coil format, width, thickness, length, incoming surface, required finish and estimated quantity. If there are specific roughness, grain direction or inspection requirements, please provide them in advance.
How do you maintain consistent Hairline or No.4 grain?
We control feeding speed, grinding pressure, abrasive specifications and wet grinding parameters. The process is adjusted according to the actual material condition to reduce uneven grain, random scratches and surface inconsistency.
What result can be achieved with 8K mirror polishing?
The purpose of 8K polishing is to create a smooth, bright and highly reflective stainless steel surface. Final mirror clarity depends on the incoming material, stainless steel grade and surface condition, so sample confirmation is recommended before mass production.
Can you provide sample finishing tests before mass production?
Yes. For new materials, special finishes or projects with specific inspection requirements, sample testing is recommended. The final surface and process parameters can be confirmed before mass production.
Can protective film be applied after finishing?
Yes. Cleaning, drying and protective film laminating can be included according to project requirements to reduce scratches and contamination during handling, storage and transportation.
How is your processing center related to your machinery business?
Our processing center is used both for production and process verification. Experience gained from different stainless steel grades, sizes and finish requirements is continuously applied to equipment design and process optimization.
Can you reproduce a finish based on a customer sample?
We can evaluate and test the process based on a customer sample. However, the final result also depends on material grade, incoming surface and production conditions, so sample approval is recommended before batch processing.
Equipment production line
Do you supply individual machines or complete production lines?
Both are available. OUYIGANG can provide individual No.4, Hairline, SB or 8K machines, as well as complete stainless steel sheet or coil surface finishing production lines.
What equipment is included in a complete stainless steel finishing line?
Depending on whether the material is sheet or coil, the line may include loading systems, decoilers, feeding systems, grinding or polishing machines, cleaning, drying, film laminating, recoiling or automatic unloading equipment.
How do I choose between No.4, Hairline, SB and 8K equipment?
The choice depends on the required surface finish. No.4 creates a uniform brushed texture, Hairline produces fine continuous linear grain, SB/Satin creates a softer satin appearance, and 8K is used for high-gloss mirror finishing.
What is the difference between a sheet polishing line and a coil-to-coil line?
A sheet polishing line processes individual stainless steel sheets and can include automatic conveying, vacuum loading, cleaning and laminating. A coil-to-coil line uses decoilers and recoilers for continuous production and is more suitable for high-volume coil processing.
Can the production line be customized according to our factory layout?
Yes. The number of machines, line arrangement and overall layout can be customized according to factory space, material flow, product size, required capacity and automation level.
What technical information is required before machine selection?
Please provide stainless steel grade, sheet or coil format, material width, thickness, sheet length or coil weight, incoming surface, required finish, expected capacity and factory layout. Local electrical standards should also be provided when applicable.
Can one production line produce different surface finishes?
Some lines can produce multiple finishes by changing abrasives, processing units and parameters. Actual capability depends on the machine configuration. We recommend configuring the line around the customer's main products to avoid unnecessary investment.
How do you determine the number of grinding or polishing heads?
The required number depends on the incoming surface, target finish, line speed, material width and production capacity. More heads are not always better; the configuration should balance surface quality, output, energy consumption and investment.
Can the production line be tested before shipment?
Yes. After assembly, the equipment can be tested using actual or similar material to verify feeding, surface quality, control functions and line coordination before shipment.
What installation and after-sales support do you provide?
Depending on the project, we can provide installation guidance, commissioning, operator training, process parameter recommendations and ongoing technical support. On-site service plans can also be arranged for complete production lines.
Can the line be equipped with PLC and automatic control?
Yes. PLC control can be used to adjust feeding speed, processing parameters and coordination between different units. The automation level can be configured according to production requirements.
How should we evaluate an investment in a new stainless steel finishing line?
The evaluation should consider target products, material sizes, required finishes, expected output, labor costs, available factory space and future expansion plans. We can compare different line configurations based on these factors rather than focusing only on the price of individual machines.
