Interleaving Paper Rewinder for Stainless Steel Coil Lines
The Interleaving Paper Rewinder is an auxiliary unit used at the entry section of a stainless steel coil processing line. It is designed to separate and rewind the protective interleaving paper from the stainless steel strip as the raw coil is unwound.
Description
The Interleaving Paper Rewinder is an auxiliary unit used at the entry section of a stainless steel coil processing line. It is designed to separate and rewind the protective interleaving paper from the stainless steel strip as the raw coil is unwound.
Some stainless steel coils are supplied with protective paper between adjacent layers to reduce direct surface contact during storage and transportation. When the coil enters a Hairline, No.4, Satin / SB, 8K or other surface finishing process, this interleaving paper needs to be removed before the stainless steel strip enters the main processing section.
The paper rewinding unit collects the separated paper continuously during decoiling, keeping it away from the material path and preparing the stainless steel strip for subsequent surface processing.
How It Works
The unit works together with the Hydraulic Decoiler at the beginning of the coil processing line.
As the stainless steel coil is unwound, the strip continues toward the processing equipment while the interleaving paper is separated from the strip and guided to the paper rewinder.
The paper is then continuously rewound onto a separate shaft for organized collection.
The material flow can be understood as:

This separates the protective packaging material from the stainless steel before surface processing begins.
Main Functions
Interleaving Paper Separation
Separates protective paper from the stainless steel strip during the decoiling process so that the paper does not continue into the downstream processing equipment.
Continuous Paper Rewinding
Collects the separated interleaving paper continuously and rewinds it onto a dedicated shaft for more organized handling.
Supports Continuous Coil Processing
Works together with the decoiler and feeding section without requiring the protective paper to be collected manually throughout continuous production.
Entry-Line Integration
The paper rewinder can be configured according to the position of the decoiler, material feeding direction, paper width and overall production line layout.
Typical Position in the Production Line
The Interleaving Paper Rewinder is normally located around the decoiling and entry section:
Coil Loading → Hydraulic Decoiler → Interleaving Paper Separation & Rewinding → Feeding → Grinding / Polishing → Cleaning & Drying → Film Laminating → Recoiling
It can be integrated into stainless steel coil surface finishing lines for:
- Hairline Finish
- 4 Finish
- Satin / SB Finish
- 8K Mirror Finish
- Other Customized Surface Finishes
Whether a paper rewinding unit is required depends on how the customer’s incoming stainless steel coils are packaged.
Customized Line Configuration
The paper rewinding unit can be configured according to the actual raw material and production line, including:
- Coil width
- Interleaving paper width
- Material feeding direction
- Decoiler configuration
- Production line speed
- Installation position
- Overall line layout
The final configuration should match the actual stainless steel coil and interleaving material used by the customer.
Complete Coil Processing Solution
The Interleaving Paper Rewinder is one of the supporting components that can be integrated into an OUYIGANG stainless steel coil surface finishing line.
Depending on the incoming coil and processing requirements, the complete line can combine Coil Loading Car, Hydraulic Decoiler, Interleaving Paper Rewinder, Hairline / No.4 / SB / 8K processing equipment, Cleaning & Drying Machine, Film Laminating Machine, Tension / Transfer Units and Hydraulic Recoiler.
By configuring each component according to the actual material flow, the production line can handle the stainless steel coil continuously from raw coil preparation to finished recoiling.
