Hydraulic Coil Loading and Unloading Car
The Hydraulic Coil Loading and Unloading Car, also known as a Coil Car, is a material handling unit used in stainless steel coil surface finishing lines. It assists with loading heavy stainless steel coils onto the decoiler and removing finished coils from the recoiler.
Description
The Hydraulic Coil Loading and Unloading Car, also known as a Coil Car, is a material handling unit used in stainless steel coil surface finishing lines. It assists with loading heavy stainless steel coils onto the decoiler and removing finished coils from the recoiler.
In a complete coil-to-coil polishing line, the decoiler and recoiler are responsible for unwinding and rewinding the strip, while the coil car handles the transfer and positioning of the coil during loading and unloading. This reduces the need for direct manual handling and makes heavy coil changeover more practical.
The system can be configured according to the coil size, coil weight, decoiler/recoiler structure and production line layout.
How It Works
Coil Loading
Before production, the raw stainless steel coil is placed on the coil car. The car transfers the coil toward the Hydraulic Decoiler, while the lifting mechanism adjusts its height to align the coil with the decoiler mandrel.
After positioning, the coil is transferred onto the decoiler and secured for the subsequent uncoiling process.
Coil Unloading
At the end of the production line, the processed stainless steel strip is rewound by the Hydraulic Recoiler.
After recoiling is completed, the coil car supports the finished coil, assists with removal from the recoiler mandrel and transfers it away from the recoiling position for subsequent handling.
Main Functions
Heavy Coil Handling
Designed to assist with the movement of stainless steel coils during loading and unloading, reducing repeated manual handling of heavy materials.
Hydraulic Lifting
The lifting mechanism helps adjust the coil height for alignment with the mandrel of the decoiler or recoiler.
Coil Positioning
Supports the coil during transfer and helps position it for loading onto or unloading from the production line.
Integration with Decoiler & Recoiler
The coil car is designed as a supporting component rather than a standalone surface finishing machine. Its dimensions, lifting range and load capacity should match the corresponding decoiler, recoiler and actual coil specifications.
Role in a Coil-to-Coil Finishing Line
A typical material flow can be understood as:
Raw Coil → Coil Loading Car → Hydraulic Decoiler → Grinding / Polishing → Cleaning & Drying → Film Laminating → Recoiler → Coil Unloading Car → Finished Coil
Depending on the line design, one or more coil handling units can be configured at the entry and exit sections.
The system can support stainless steel coil lines for:
- Hairline Finish
- 4 Finish
- Satin / SB Finish
- 8K Mirror Finish
- Other Customized Surface Finishes
Customized Configuration
The coil loading and unloading system can be configured according to:
- Coil width
- Coil weight
- Coil inner diameter
- Coil outer diameter
- Required lifting range
- Decoiler and recoiler dimensions
- Material transfer direction
- Factory layout
- Production line configuration
Final specifications should be determined according to the actual coil and complete line requirements.
Complete Coil Handling Solution
In a stainless steel coil polishing line, efficient material handling involves more than the polishing machine itself. Raw coils must be loaded, unwound and continuously processed, while finished material must be rewound and removed from the line.
OUYIGANG can integrate the Coil Loading & Unloading Car, Hydraulic Decoiler, polishing machine, cleaning and drying system, film laminating machine, tension/transfer units and Hydraulic Recoiler into a complete stainless steel coil surface finishing solution.
For equipment configuration, provide your coil width, thickness, coil weight, inner/outer diameter, required surface finish and production capacity. The material handling system can then be matched to the actual production line.
